📢 COMMUNITY UPDATE — WHAT'S CHANGING
WHAT'S CHANGING
Good afternoon everyone, I wanted to take a moment to give everyone an update on Socially Unsocial and the direction we're going to be taking over the coming weeks and months. Due to a number of recent events, changes within leadership, and a better understanding of what the community currently needs, some fairly significant changes are going to be taking place. While change can sometimes be a little daunting, the aim here is simple: Put the community back at the centre of Socially Unsocial. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔧 DISCORD REDESIGN One of the first things you'll notice is a complete redesign of the Discord server. This will include: • 🗂️ Restructuring and cleaning up channels • 🎭 Reviewing and reorganising roles • 👑 Changes to the leadership and staff structure • 📜 Updating rules and community guidelines • 🎮 Creating spaces for different games and interests • 💬 Making the server easier to navigate and more enjoyable to use • 🧹 Removing channels and features that are no longer being used The goal isn't to make the Discord bigger for the sake of being bigger. The goal is to make it cleaner, more active and actually useful for the people who are here. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎮 STEPPING AWAY FROM ARMA 3 After a lot of consideration, we will also be stepping away from hosting our Arma 3 server. Arma has been a huge part of Socially Unsocial and has helped us build the community we have today, so this isn't a decision we've taken lightly. However, the community has always been bigger than a single game, and we feel that continuing to put so much time and resources into one server isn't the right direction for us anymore. Instead, we're going to focus on Socially Unsocial as a gaming community, rather than an Arma community. That means you'll start seeing more opportunities to play different games together — whether that's competitive games, co-op games, survival games, simulators or simply jumping into something random with other members. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🚜 FARM SIM 25 SERVER As part of this change, I've also set up a Farm Sim 25 server for anyone who wants somewhere to jump on, relax and have a bit of a chill. There are no expectations to take it seriously. If you fancy jumping on after work, doing a bit of farming, messing around with friends or just having something running in the background while chatting in Discord, you're more than welcome. The server is there for anyone in the community to hop onto whenever they fancy. More information about the server, including how to join, will be posted separately. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏆 BRINGING THE COMMUNITY BACK One of the biggest things I want to work on is bringing the community side of Socially Unsocial back to life. Over the coming weeks and months, we're going to be looking at introducing more: 🎉 Community Events 🎁 Giveaways 🏆 Challenges & Competitions 🎮 Game Nights 👥 Community Activities 💬 Regular Voice Chat Sessions 🎯 Member-Driven Events & Suggestions I want people to have a reason to jump into Discord even when they're not playing a particular game. Most importantly, I want members to have a say in what happens here. If there's a game you'd like us to play, an event you'd like to see, or something you think would make the community better, we'll be opening up more opportunities for everyone to contribute ideas. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 👥 A COMMUNITY FOR EVERYONE One of the biggest changes going forward is that Socially Unsocial isn't going to be centred around one particular game. Whether you're playing Farming Simulator, Arma, GTA, Call of Duty, Minecraft, racing games, survival games, strategy games or something completely different, you're part of the same community. We want to create somewhere that people can come to find others to play with, regardless of what they're currently playing. The aim is to encourage people to meet new people, find people with similar interests and actually play together, rather than everyone being split into separate groups. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🚀 THE BIGGER PICTURE Socially Unsocial has been around for a while now, and we've had some really good periods of growth, activity and genuinely great people coming through the community. The goal now is to build that back up — but do it properly. We're not trying to become the biggest gaming community overnight. We're trying to create a place where people can come in, meet people, find others to play with, have a laugh and actually feel like they're part of something. There will undoubtedly be more changes as we go, and not everything will happen overnight. Some things will work, some things won't, and we'll adapt as we go. The Discord, leadership structure, roles, channels and community activities will all evolve as we work towards creating something we're all proud to be part of. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🖤💛 THANK YOU Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone who has stuck around, supported Socially Unsocial and been part of the journey so far. Whether you've been here since the beginning or you've only recently joined, you're part of what makes this community what it is. The next chapter is going to be about the community, the people in it and having a place where we can all enjoy gaming together.
